Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 27, 2026. Short version: the text you paste never leaves your browser, and we don't sell anything about you. We do run privacy-limited analytics, and we measure how fast your graphics hardware is so we know which voices will work on your device — both are explained below.
What we collect
On our servers: nothing. Quick TTS is a static website. The text you paste into the box is processed entirely inside your browser. It is never transmitted to us.
In your browser's localStorage: we save your preferences (volume, speed, voice choice, which voice engine you picked, and the last text you pasted), plus a measurement of how fast your graphics hardware is. We use that measurement to decide whether the HD voice will actually run well on your device, instead of letting you find out the slow way. Your text and preferences stay on your device. The hardware measurement, and your graphics vendor and model, are sent to our analytics — see below. You can clear all of it any time via your browser's site-data controls.
In your browser's cache: if you use one of the AI voices, we store its model files — up to about 400MB for the HD voice — in your browser's cache so it only has to download once. Nothing about you is in them; they are the voice itself. Clearing this site's data removes them.
Third parties
Google AdSense serves the ads on this site. AdSense uses cookies and similar technologies to show ads that may be personalized to you. You can review and change your ad preferences at Google Ads Settings. To opt out of third-party personalized advertising generally, see YourAdChoices or Your Online Choices (EU).
Google Analytics (GA4) tells us how the site is used: which pages get viewed, which voice engine you picked, whether generating or downloading audio succeeded or failed, and how many characters were in the text box — a number, never the text itself. We run it with IP anonymization on, Google Signals off, and ad personalization off, so this data isn't reused to build an advertising profile of you. It sets first-party cookies (_ga and _ga_7935DR9NHE) to tell one browser from another. What it collects is pseudonymous: it's tied to a random browser ID, not to your name, email, or an account. Clearing this site's data resets that ID and detaches you from everything collected before it. If you block analytics, the site works exactly the same.
Hardware information. We measure how fast your graphics hardware is to decide which AI voices your device can run, and when playback breaks it usually breaks for a whole class of hardware at once. To find those cases, we send the analytics above your graphics vendor and card model (for example "intel" and "Intel UHD Graphics"), the architecture your browser reports for it, and the speed measurement described earlier. We strip the driver version and the device ID out of the model name before sending it, and we don't send serial numbers or any other device identifier. This is information about your hardware, not about you — but a hardware description can help tell one browser apart from another, so we keep it coarse and use it only to fix broken playback.
jsDelivr (cdn.jsdelivr.net) and Hugging Face (huggingface.co) host the JavaScript libraries and AI voice model files that power the optional "AI Voice" feature. If you enable AI Voice, your browser downloads those files directly from those CDNs. We don't control their logs, but neither has access to the text you paste — only to the fact that your browser requested the library/model.
Google Fonts serves the typefaces used on the site.
Cookies
Our own code doesn't set any cookies: the preferences above and the cookie banner's "you've dismissed it" flag both use localStorage instead. The cookies you will see come from Google. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (_ga and _ga_7935DR9NHE) to tell repeat visits apart, and Google AdSense sets its own cookies for ads; both are governed by Google's policies. Blocking or deleting either set doesn't change how the site works.
Your rights (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
We have no accounts, no email list, and no database with your name in it, so there is nothing we can look up, export, or delete for you personally. The analytics described above are pseudonymous — tied to a random browser ID we can't trace back to a person — and clearing this site's data in your browser resets that ID. To remove your local preferences, clear the site's data via your browser. To manage ad-related data, use the Google and YourAdChoices links above.
Children
Quick TTS is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information that identifies anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top. Material changes will be summarized in a short note at the top of this page for at least 30 days.
